  Workshop/Coaching Content
Leadership-oriented Thinking Processes

Case Studies include a £1billion flop caused by 21 Thinking Errors made by the Leadership Team
Most business failures are caused by Leaders not thinking clearly.
Delegates study a number of Leadership-oriented Thinking Processes, such as:

  • develop a vision (“What could/should we be, do, sell?”)
  • devise a strategy and set business/team goals/objectives/targets
  • plan how to implement a strategy
  • plan a complex project
  • create new ideas and plan innovations
  • solve major problems
  • devise and plan change
  • devise new communications campaigns
  • improve business and team performance
  • make crucial decisions

Workshops and coaching follow the basic content described in our Clear Thinking Training course but focus on the Thinking Processes, Thinking Styles, and Case Studies relevant to Leadership, plus Leadership Roles and Styles.

Delegate’s Preferred Thinking Styles, Preferred Leadership Styles, MBTI Types, and Leadership Development Areas (eg via 360 or performance reviews) can be assessed or identified prior to the workshop or coaching.

Leadership is very different from Management
(but a Leader needs to be good at both)
Polar Opposite
Ways of Thinking

Leadership Thinking is the polar-opposite Thinking Style to Management Thinking in the Whole Brain Thinking model. Leadership Thinking is more focused on the Visionary Thinking Quartile (which includes Strategy Thinking, Overview Thinking, and Creative Thinking).

Management Thinking is operational, more in the Task Thinking Quartile (along with Detailed Planning Thinking, Controls Thinking).

A Clear Thinking Leader
… is Whole-Brained
A Whole-Brained Thinker and Doer; switching easily and competently between all four Quartiles of Whole Brain Thinking; knowing which Thinking Styles to engage at each stage in any Business Thinking Process. This Workshop (and coaching) shows delegates how to maximise results at work - and minimise the risk of errors - by ensuring that they are thinking clearly.
… knows the job of Leadership Knows the role of leader. We have identified seven distinct Leadership Roles – what successful Leaders do – from setting a vision to making the big decisions.
… flexes their Leadership Style Depending on the situation. We have identified six Leadership Styles – how they do it. Delegates gain a thorough understanding of, and get practice in, the full range of Leadership Styles, and know which one to use, when, for maximum results.
… knows how their Team thinks Knows how each team member thinks (their Preferred Thinking Styles). Best results come from a ‘balanced’ team, covering the four core Whole-Brain Thinking Styles.
